A Message from the President

March, 2011

Dear BBNC Members,

How exciting - spring is almost here!  After a very long winter with near record levels of snow we are all welcoming any site of spring. The BBNC has many activities available this spring so make sure to review this Welcome Mat and the on-line calendar for what’s planned for April.  Our luncheon this month is the BBNC’s Annual Afternoon High Tea.

Please join us on April 12th at the beautiful Park Hotel in Rochester.  Reservations are due early in April so don’t let this pass you by.  Make sure to send your reservation in before you leave for spring break! Also please note we are taking reservations for the BBNC’s Annual Fashion Show.  This year our Fashion Show will be in May, a bit later than in previous years due to the late Easter holiday.  Our Special Events Leaders and the Community House do a wonderful job each year with the Fashion Show so this is an event you will not want to miss!

I would like to thank our American Culture leader, Donna Rubin, for her leadership of this group over recent months.  Donna joined the BBNC earlier this fall and immediately stepped up to lead this group.  Now she moves onto another position as a Librarian at a local school and has resigned the position.  Thank you again Donna for the wonderful programs you have organized for our international members to learn more about our customs and holidays here in America.  For this group to continue we are looking for two new leaders. If you are familiar with American traditions, this might be a way you could be involved in the BBNC.  If interested please contact me or Mona Schmatz.

My comments are short this month but I just encourage you to read through the newsletter and mark your calendars to join us in some of the many activities and events planned.  As I always say, there is no reason to stay at home when you  are a member of the BBNC.

Hope to see you soon...

Kathy
