Connect through shared interests: The BBNC Activity Groups
Newcomers often find it easy to make friends through shared interests. BBNC activities and events provide many opportunities to connect. BBNC members choose activities based on their interests, from coffee and card games to sports, enrichment, and community service. We learn new languages, customs, and skills together, forming cross-cultural, lasting friendships. All activities are led by BBNC members who volunteer their time. Join any group and enjoy!
We have many different activity groups. Below is just a small sample of what is available.
Coffee & Conversation
A no-agenda, strictly social morning of conversation for members to enjoy catching up with a large circle of friends. Also a good opportunity to practice your English with a non-judgmental group of Expats.
Conversation Groups
These specific nationalities: French, German, Spanish, Italian. They meet only to socialize on a monthly basis to speak in their native tongue. Please note: English is not spoken during these events.
Luncheon
Each month, we gather for lunch at a different international restaurant in the Detroit metro area, enjoying authentic cuisine and unique specialties. Join us to reconnect with old friends and make new ones!
Venturing Out
Venturing Out offers a wide range of activities, from tours of architectural gems and Metro Detroit neighborhoods to visits to unique attractions, shopping excursions, and seasonal experiences. Highlights from past events include tours of Ford Field, Michigan Central Station, the Fischer Building, and the Amazon Fulfillment Center.
Games
We have groups that play Mah Jongg, Poker, Bunco and Euchre.
There are so many more!
Book Clubs, Movie club, Bowling, Walking, Tennis, Cooking, Meditation, Knitting, Dancing, Community Outreach. The list goes on, and sometimes changes depending on members interests.
